Five people have been arrested following a drug and gun investigation in Oshawa.
On Friday, the Durham Police Gun and Gang Unit arrested a man for trafficking in controlled substances.
During his arrest, police say the man attempted to flee by ramming several cruisers with his own vehicle. He was subsequently apprehended without injuries to the officers or accused.
The Unit then search his residence and seized approximately $18,000 in cash in relation to proceeds of crime.
In connection to the investigation, police searched another residence and arrested two people.
Police seized a sawed off shotgun, ammunition was located at this residence by PSD Axel—a K-9 specially trained in firearm detection.
Abeeku Arhin, 22, of Simcoe Street North in Oshawa, is charged with: Trafficking a Controlled Subtance (cocaine); Possession of the Proceeds of Crime; Dangerous Driving and Fail to Comply with Recognizance.
Cindy Kerlow, 51, of Sorrento Avenue in Oshawa, and George Lund, 31, of East Townline Road in Clarington, are both charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance x2 (cocaine and marihuana).
Daniel Campbell-Johnson, 21, of Lucas Lane in Ajax, and Kelly Mendoza, 21, of John Tabor Tail in Scarborough, are both facing various firearm charges.
