Geoffrey Scott of Millbrook is a million dollars richer……after winning the Lotto Max Maxmillions in the August 12 draw.
“Saturday morning I was heading home and stopped at the store to grab a few water bottles, and check my LOTTO MAX tickets,” shared Geoffrey while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where he picked up his winnings. “I used the ticket checker and scanned the first one – nothing. The second ticket was a different story. I scanned it and saw all of those zeros! I didn’t think it was real, so I scanned the ticket two more times, and the zeros still appeared.”
Geoffrey shared the good news with his young son.
“My boy definitely has his priorities, when I told him we won the lottery, he simply asked where his water bottle was,” smiled Geoffrey. “I then called my wife and asked her if she was sitting down. She thought I had bad news. When I said, ‘No. I think we won the lottery!’ she had her doubts asking if I had counted the zeros correctly and had the right date.”
Sharing the winnings with his family tops the list for Geoffrey.
“There’s such joy in knowing that we get to share this good fortune with the people we love most. My wife’s siblings will now be student debt-free, and we will take our parents on a trip somewhere south when the cold weather arrives. My wife would also like a new SUV, and I can now purchase my dream car, a vintage Mustang!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Pioneer on Highway 7 in Cavan Monaghan.
