Port Hope Police briefs Aug. 15 – Aug. 25:
On Aug. 15,at approximately 8 a.m. police were dispatched to Northumberland Tire on Peter Street to reports of a stolen grey two-door 2008 GMC Sierra. The next day the vehicle was located in Cobourg on Highway 45 in a carpool lot. The keys were locked in the vehicle.
There are no suspects.
Youth arrested for property damage
On Aug. 16, police received numerous calls reporting property crimes which occurred during the night time hours.
Police charged a youth with theft of a motor vehicle; 8 counts of theft under$5,000; dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; five counts of mischief, and two counts of Break and Enter with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence. The Youth was held for a Bail Hearing.
Counterfeit $50 bills
On Aug. 19 at approximately 7:05 p.m. a woman attempted to use a counterfeit American $50 bill at the LCBO on Ontario St and the Beer Store on Peter Street.
The woman is described as East Indian, 25-30 years of age, approximately 5-foot-7 with a thin build. She was wearing noticeably long high-heel shoes.
Business window smashed
On Saturday, Aug. 29, at around 2:35 a.m., poilce were contacted to report the front window of the Electric Juicer on Walton Street was smashed.
A witness said she heard a male and female out in front of the store and then the glass breaking. Police continue to investigate.
Assault, bicycle theft
On Sunday, Aug. 21, around 2:40 a.m., police responded to a robbery where the victim was kicked in the head by three males before running off with his bicycle. The bike is described as a greyish green with 1 handle grip that was too long, red flashy lights on the back and a white light on the front. The victim was transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital by ambulance

On Sunday, Aug. 21, around 2 p.m., a mother, her son and his girlfriend were walking home from the local establishments when a verbal exchange began with a male and three females. Two of the women ended up pushing the victim to the ground and spitting on her.
Erika Melendy and Amanda Hamilton have been charged with assault. The victim suffered no injuries.
On Aug. 5 police were involved in a pursuit but were unable to locate the female drive. A warrant was issued for her arrest.
On Aug. 24, she was arrested by Hamilton Police and returned to Port Hope.
Cathy Davidson was held for a bail hearing on a charge ofCare and Control Impaired by drug, Flight from Peace Officer and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
On Wednesday, Aug. 24 police were dispatched to a Walton Street business (GLAM decorations) for a report of a fraud in progress.
As a result of the investigation, Gabriel Idemudia was arrested and charged with six counts of fraud. She held for a bail hearing.
