Durham police seek gas and liquor thief

Police have released images of a male suspect who was captured on video stealing gas and liquor from businesses in Durham Region.

On Friday, Aug. 5, a man was captured on video surveillance at a Port Perry gas station pumping more than $65 worth of gasoline into his car and then leaving without paying.

The same suspect and vehicle were involved in a similar theft two days later where $78 worth of gas was stolen from a gas station on Taunton Road East in Oshawa.

On Monday, Aug. 15, at approximately 1:45 p.m., the same suspect stole more than $580 worth of liquor from an LCBO branch in Bowmanville, leaving in a black car.

Four days later he stole more than $50 worth of gas from a gas station in Brooklin.

In all incidents, the suspect vehicle is a black, newer-model BMW and had a licence plate attached which had been reported missing in York Region.

In two incidents, a female suspect was observed in the car.

The suspect is described as male, white, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-11 tall, with a slim build, a shaved head and a brown/grey goatee.
