Police arrest two, snag $70K worth of marijuana from grow op

Two people are facing charges after officers located an outdoor marijuana grow operation in Oshawa Saturday.

Durham Regional Police say about 9:30 p.m., officers saw a pick-up truck parked near an open field on Conlin Road near Wilson Road.

Air and ground searches were used to help uncover 70 marijuana plants in the nearby fields. The street value, police say, is about $70K.

Bernard Cave, 36, of Cypress Avenue in Oshawa and Douglas Pennington, 52, of Conlin Road in Oshawa are charged with Production of a Controlled Substance and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Marijuana. Both were released on an OIC Promise to Appear.
