Change-machine theft suspect in court

Police have made an arrest in a bizarre case of theft from change machines at the City Bus Terminal on Simcoe Street. peterborough police

On August 12, officers were dispatched to the terminal after someone allegedly put a bill into the change machine, then pulled the bill out after the machine had dispensed the change. Police say the same suspect had done the same thing the day prior.

Jason Wootton, 46, of Sherin Avenue, is charged with two counts of theft under $5,000, possession of a coin-operated device-breaking instrument and failing to comply with the conditions of an undertaking. The accused was held in custody.
