Police issue warrant for suspect in stabbing

City of Kawartha Lakes Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of John Robert Thibeault, 29, of no fixed address, in relation to a stabbing that occurred in downtown Lindsay on Tuesday September 13.

Thibeault is wanted on charges of Robbery, Break and Enter, Aggravated Assault, Possession of A Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace and two counts of Failing To Comply with a Probation Order in relation to the stabbing. ‘

They warn Thibeault should be considered armed and dangerous.

Thibeault had just been released from custody on Thursday September 8th, 2016 after leading police on a rooftop chase while trying to evade being arrested on an outstanding warrant.  

At 8:03 a.m. on Tuesday September 13, City of Kawartha Lakes Police were called to a Kent St. West apartment after receiving a call about a man being stabbed. Investigation  revealed that the man was stabbed after his apartment was broken into. He was transported to a Lindsay area hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Kawartha Lakes Police are asking that anyone who knows the whereabouts of Thibeault not approach him and contact them immediately.
