On Aug. 29, police served the operators with warning letters. Today, members of the Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of officers from Central East and Central West Division, executed search warrants at two storefront dispensaries in Oshawa and one in Whitby:
o Emerald Triangle, 8 Simcoe St. N., Oshawa
o 420 Compassion Club, 136 Simcoe St. S., Oshawa
o Green Street Medical Society, 110 Dunlop St. E., Whitby
A total of four people were charged with possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds obtained by crime. No names were released and everyone was released on Appearance Notices.
Anyone with new information about the illegal sale of marihuana or other drugs in Durham Region is asked to contact the DRPS Drug Enforcement Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5801.
