Police probe pair of convenience store robberies

Peterborough, ON, Canada / (CHEXTV)

Police are investigating two early morning convenience store robberies that took place on Saturday.

The first was around 2 a.m. when an unknown male entered a McDonnel Street convenience store. He brandished a knife demanded money from the employee behind the counter. The employee complied and the male then fled the store on foot. The suspect is described as:

• Caucasian
• 50-60 years
• 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10
• 150 lbs
• Brown jacket

Then shortly after 5:30 a.m., an unknown male entered a King Street convenience store. He also  brandished a knife as he demanded money from an employee.

The employee fled the store and the male suspect stole an amount of lottery tickets and cigarettes. The suspect then fled the store on foot. he is described as:

• Caucasian
• Mid 40s
• Approximately 5-foot-6
• Clean shaven
• Slim build
• Running shoes
