Site meetings for each of the ten projects approved under the My Peterborough: 2016 Participatory Budgeting Pilot Projectwill take place within the next few weeks.
To kick things off, the Northcrest Pollinator Garden Group will host a community meeting Wednesday, September 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hilliard Street Community Garden, 999 Hilliard Street, Peterborough.
“We are really thrilled to be partnering with members of the Hilliard St. Community Garden on this project,” said Project Leader Carlotta James, “A pollinator garden is the perfect compliment to the well established vegetable garden the residents plant each year and they are enthusiastic about the project. We welcome all residents from the Hilliard neighbourhood and any other interested community members to join us for our kick-off info session.”
City staff say site preparation for most of the other projects will be completed this fall, weather permitting. Project completion is anticipated in spring, 2017.
