It was a celebratory mood at the Evinrude Centre on Tuesday morning as the United Way of Peterborough and District launched its 75th community campaign.
The launch included a swing band and a circus performance as United Way CEO Jim Russell and campaign chair Gwyneth James revealed a number of upcoming fundraising events.
Among them, an anniversary gala on November 19th at the Armoury.
They were joined by the United Way’s partner agencies to reveal this year’s goal of $2,000,075.
Last year’s campaign raised $1.9 million, missing its goal by $400,000. But James is confident the anniversary year will be a banner one.
