Man with gun triggers lockdown of Trenton schools

QUINTE WEST – Two schools in Trenton were on lockdown Friday morning after reports of a man with a long gun in the area.

OPP received reports of the man around 9:30 a.m. in the area of Tripp Blvd. and Dundas St. As a result, Trenton High School,  St. Paul Catholic Secondary were in a hold and secure position as a precaution.

Around 11 a.m. police located the man. They say they recovered an Airsoft rifle.

No charges will be laid. Police tweeted a photo of the guns asking if people could tell if they are real or toys? “Use common sense, even with replicas” the tweet said.
