A warrant has been issued for the arrest of an Oshawa man who last month opened an illegal marijuana dispensary in downtown Peterborough.
On September 29, the Peterborough Police Service’s Drug Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a Peterborough hotel where the man was renting a room.
Marijuana and marijuana-related products were located and seized, police said.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of the accused, Richard Standen, 62, of Wecker Drive, Oshawa the following charges:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule II substance ( marijuana)
• Breach of recognizance X2
In mid-September Standen was arrested for opening Cannabis Culture on George Street and police shut it down. It reopened again near the end of the month but was again shut down and two people were arrested.
The investigation continues.
