Peterborough city council is once again debating the choice of beer to sell at the Memorial Centre.
Their 12-year contract with Molson ran out . . . and rather than automatically renew, they sought bidders. In the end, councillors decided to delay a decision and sell Molson in the interim.
Now it’s decision time. City staff first recommended switching to Labatt. Councillors rejected that idea. Now staff are recommending a variety of suppliers to offer patrons choice. Again, councillors said “No.” They’ve instructed staff to go back to Molson to check if the brewery is still interested in the contract.
Councillors also expressed interest in having a local microbrewery supply products as well.
