A Peterborough man is charged with uttering death threats after he was confronted by store security for stealing multiple items.
On December 22 a man entered a Chemong Road business and stole approximately $400 worth of merchandise. Store security noticed the arrest after reviewing store surveillance and sales slips.
On December 28, the same male entered the store again and his movements in the store were monitored by staff. Security attempted to arrest the male outside the shop after reportedly watching him leave with unpaid merchandise. Police say it was then that a male threatened to stab store security.
Several Peterborough Police officers attended the area, subsequently arrested Jason Tarso, 33, of Chamberlain Place. He is charged with Uttering Threats to Cause Death and Theft Under $5000.
