Carrying Concealed Weapon Arrest:
A 30-year-old Omemee man is facing charges following a New Year’s Eve incident at a Peterborough bar.
On December 31, 2016 at approximately 11:45 p.m. police attended a Charlotte Street bar for a disturbance. Staff said they removed an intoxicated man from the premises who had been causing a distrubance inside the bar and he damaged the front door.
As a result of the investigation Jamie-Lee Gallant, 30, of Sturgeon Street, Omemee, was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000 and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
During the arrest officers located a concealed knife on the accused. Gallant was further charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
He appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday court on Jan. 1, 2017, was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear again in court later today (Jan. 3).
On January 1, 2017 at approximately 10:15 p.m. police responded to an incident at a Peterborough residence.
It was reported that a teen had attended the residence and had been told by the victim, a male in his 20s, to leave.
At that point the accused pushed his way into the home, assaulted the victim and damaged a patio door. The accused and the victim know each other.
Shortly after midnight on January 2, officers located the accused at a Peterborough residence.
Carter Riley Moore, 19, of Killarney Drive, Ennismore, was arrested and charged with assault, unlawfully in dwelling house and mischief under $5,000.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 26.
Mischief/Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest:
On December 30, 2016 at approximately 9 a.m. police received a call from a concerned citizen regarding a man running into traffic at the intersection of Weller Street and Albertus Avenue.
A short time later officers located the man walking in the middle of the road east on Hopkins Avenue. Through the investigation the male was placed under arrest under the Liquor Licence Act for public intoxication.
During the arrest the male resisted and attempted to assault an officer.
Jesse Dean Rowe, 23, of Hopkins Avenue, was charged with mischief, assault with intent to resist arrest and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order .
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 19.
Domestic Assault Arrest:
A 22-year-old man and woman in her 20s are currently in a domestic relationship. During the early morning hours of January 1, they became involved in an argument at their Peterborough home.
During the argument it was reported that the man assaulted the woman. She was able to leave the residence and the incident was reported to police.
Officers located the man at the residence and as a result of the investigation he was placed under arrest and charged with assault.
He appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday court on Jan. 1,was released from custody and is scheduled to appear again in court on January 19.
The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident.
