Peterborough Nordic Club makes skiing more accessible for winter enthusiasts

There’s a new Nordic Club in town – and this one is actually directly in the city.

The Peterborough Nordic Club is trying to make outdoor winter sports more accessible in the city.
Their aim is to groom local trails for classic and skate skiing.
President, Dave Dame, says the club also offers free lessons, and group meet ups.

“I’m an avid Nordic skiier myself, and the number one thing is getting in your car and having to leave town to do it, so we’ve got some gems of trails right here in town, so just grooming them and making them accessible, making it so that you can ski before work, like we are here today or after work, and just removing all the barriers to entry.”

Dame believes having groomed trails in the heart of the city is long overdue, considering the ‘Peterborough lifestyle’, which he says is all about enjoying the outdoors in the city.
