The province is boosting its Enhanced Gas Tax program.
Currently, the City of Peterborough gets $1.5-million per year through this program; the county gets $45,000.
By 2021, that will double to $3-Million and $90,000, respectively.
The money is generated from an existing 14.7 cents road tax that is applied to the price at the pumps.
The province says the amount charged at the pump won’t change, but the amount it allocates from each litre of gas for the program will double.
