Investigators with Durham Regional Police have released a composite sketch of a male suspect who allegedly tried to lure a child into a vehicle in Brooklin on January 24. The child, 9, was walking home from school around 3 p.m. when a suspicious vehicle and driver approached him near Carnwith Drive and Cachet Boulevard. The male driver reportedly offered the child a ride and when the boy refused the driver, offered him money to get in his vehicle. The boy ran home and into his house where his father went outside and saw the vehicle.
The suspect is described as male, white and approximately 65-years-old with grey hair and a full white beard.
