A Peterborough native, convicted in 2014 murder in Calgary, will learn his sentence next Friday.
Scott Monroe Ferguson, 25, was found guilty of manslaughter on Tuesday night.
In September 2014, his girlfriend, Susan Elko, 39, was found dead in their condo.
An investigation revealed Ferguson stabbed Elko 10 times.
He was originally charged with second degree murder, although a jury ruled he didn’t have the necessary intent to commit the crime as charged.
The Peterborough native moved to Calgary in 2011 to look for work.
