Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle Arrest:

A 21-year-old Ajax man is facing charges including flight from police, dangerous driving and impaired driving following an incident in the area of King Street Thursday.

Police say at about 2:45 a.m., officers saw a vehicle driving the wrong way on George Street and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Police say a chase ensued when the vehicle failed to stop. It ended when the vehicle entered a King Street parking garage

The vehicle entered a King Street parking garage and the male driver and occupants allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot; officers eventually found them inside the parking garage, out of sight.

As a result of the investigation Michael John McGuire, 21, of Exeter Road, Ajax, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Flight while pursued by police officer
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 blood alcohol content
  • Impaired driving

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 27, 2017.

 

Assault peace Officer/Impaired Arrest:

A Cobourg man is facing charges including impaired driving, assaulting a police officer and being in possession of a stolen vehicle following a traffic stop in Cavan Monaghan Sunday.

Around 4:40 a.m., an officer on patrol in the township stopped a vehicle on Hwy 115 near Hwy 28.

Police say, after the man was arrested, he spat on an officer.

Jake Lucyk-Herdman, 28, of Division Street, Cobourg, was arrested and charged with assault peace officer, impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 blood alcohol content.

Police say the vehicle he was driving was a stolen vehicle from the Whitby area. The accused was further charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

 

 

 

Assault Arrest:

A 22-year-old Ennismore man has been charged with assault following an incident outside a George Street North nightclub.

On April 9, at approximately 2:30 a.m., the accused attended a George Street North nightclub but was denied entry as the establishment was closing. A verbal dispute with a security officer ensued, and police say the security officer was assaulted.

Brandon Michael Pasho, 22, of Skyline Road, Ennismore, is charged with assault. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 11, 2017.
