Army to remove Port Hope bridge

The Department of National Defense is stepping in to demonstrate its skills and to assist Port Hope remove an old bridge.

‘Operation Bye-Bye Bailey’ will see 32 Combat Engineer Regiment from Toronto remove the Barrett Street Bailey Bridge.  The bridge, which has been in place since the flood of 1980, has reached the end of its useful life and will be replaced with a new structure. The operation takes place May 13th and will provide a practical exercise for the military engineers as well as a chance for the public to watch them in action
