Food project receives funding boost

A Peterborough-based food project is among two dozen in Ontario receiving funding from the province.

MPP and Rural Affairs Minister Jeff Leal announced a $15K grand for “Farms at Work” – an organization that showcases local food through its “Peterborough Local Food Month” each September.

Farms-at-Work plans to use the fund to hire a manager to expand its local food month events.

Len and Patti’s Butcher Block in Little Britain also received funding, to the tune of $46K for upgrades to increase production capacity.
