On Day of Mourning, labour demands action on CGE Occupational illness claims

It’s called labour’s most solemn day. Since 1985, April 28th has been marked as International Day of Mourning for those killed¬† or injured on the job.¬† Those gathered at a ceremony in Peterborough heard that while the labour movement has made some progress on behalf of these workers, much remains to be done. Here in Peterborough, labour organizations want action from Canadian General Electric on claims by the families of former workers who say they died because of workplace conditions.
