Two Peterborough residents charged in connection to human trafficking/drug ring

Five persons have been charged following a human trafficking and drug-related investigation involving a teenaged female from the Durham Region brought to Peterborough, Whitby and other GTA motels to perform sexual acts for money.

Investigators with the Durham Regional Police Service’s Gun and Gang Unit and Human Trafficking Unit and the Peterborough Police Service arrested two suspects last week. Peterborough police say one of the males operates under the name ‘Shiloh’, and allegedly befriended the female victim and introduced her to a male nicknamed ‘Turtle/Uncle’.

Subsequently, the girl was convinced to work in the sex trade, and her services were advertised online. Meetings between the victim and customers allegedly occurred in hotel rooms.

Upon arrest, police say one of the suspects had 63 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of crack and more than $3,500  in cash.

Subsequently two search warrants were executed in connection to this investigation; one in Durham and one in Peterborough.

During the Peterborough search, $6,000 in Canadian currency and cocaine were located.

The following persons were arrested and charged:

Angelica Wright, 28, of Brenyon Way, Scarborough, is charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Wright was held in custody and has appeared in court.

Robert Kenneth Primeau, 55, of Talwood Court, Peterborough is charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance (cocaine)
  • Unauthorized possession of weapon (knife)

Primeau was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 25, 2017.

Jennifer Lynn Bergman, 52, of Talwood Court, Peterborough, is charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance (cocaine)

Bergman was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 25, 2017.

The Durham Regional Police Service executed a CDSA search warrant at a Westcreek Drive residence in Pickering where two replica handguns were located and ammunition.

Oral Richards, a.k.a. ‘Shiloh’, age 27 of McQuay Boulevard in Whitby and Terrell Ochrym, a.k.a. ‘Turtle/Uncle’, age 38 of Westcreek Drive in Pickering have both been charged with the following:

  • Obtain sexual services for consideration under 18
  • Procuring/recruit person under 18 to provide sexual services
  • Material benefit from sexual services from person under 18
  • Procuring/exercise control over person under 18
  • Exercise control over person under 18
  • Advertising another person’s sexual services
  • Distribute child pornography
  • Householder permit sexual activity of a person under 18 years

Ochrym faces an additional charge of possession cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Both males were held for a bail hearing.
