Tim Hortons evacuated after electrical fire

we-sequence-01-00_00_10_11-still003A small fire forced the closure of a Tim Hortons in Peterborough on Wednesday morning.
Just after 9 staff noticed smoke pillowing from an electrical outlet in the rear of the restaurant on Ashburnham Drive and Lansdowne Street.

Staff and customers quickly left the building.

Firefighters arrived and said they extinguished a smoldering electrical outlet and toaster.

No one was injured and staff returned inside within half an hour.
The business was closed for the morning for cleanup.
