Former Peterborough Paramedic awarded Meritorious Service Award

A former Peterborough paramedic will receive the nation’s highest civil award for his humanitarian work in Syria.

Mark Cameron, along with doctors Jay Dahman and Hahled Amilaji created “CIMRO”, the “Canadian International Medical Relief Organization”, to treat victims of the war in syria.  They started off doing first aid and now their organization is moving into public health and mental health. The team will receive the “Meritorious Service Award” from the Governor General in Ottawa.
