Selwyn councillors sound off on minimum wage hike

The upcoming bump in minimum wage continues to draw debate; Chemong Lodge owner Doug Northey says he’s worried that the increase will affect his skilled labour force who are already making more than $11.40 an hour. Selwyn Township councillor and business owner Gerry Herron is bringing the issue to council chambers. He’s put forward a motion asking his fellow councillors to ask the province to back down on its plan. But not everyone is on board.
