Aggravated Assault Arrest:
A 25-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with aggravated assault following an altercation outside a Charlotte Street bar.
At approximately 2:40 a.m. on June 11, two men in their 20s became involved in a verbal dispute outside an establishment on Charlotte Street.
During the dispute it was reported that the accused struck and kicked the victim in the face. The accused then fled the area. Police and EMS attended and the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment to his injuries.
Officers made contact with the accused and on the morning of June 12, the accused turned himself in at the police station where he was placed under arrest.
Brandon Paul McIlmoyle, 25, of Charlotte Street, is charged with aggravated assault.
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on June 12.
Sexual Assault/Assault Arrest:
A Peterborough man is facing charges including assault and sexual assault involving a woman in her 20s.
The 29-year-old man, and the woman are currently in a domestic relationship.
On June 12, they became involved in a dispute in a public place which led to the man assaulting the woman.
Police were called and officers attended the scene. During the investigation a historical sexual assault and an assault were also reported.
Police contacted the accused who turned himself in at the Peterborough Police station on the night of June 12.
He was arrested and charged with the following:
• Sexual assault
• Two counts of sexual assault
• Fail to comply with a probation order
He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (June 13).
The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident.
