jane-gray-int-june-8-mp4-00_04_30_00-still001In January, it was announced that our region received an International Designation awarded by UNESCO and now under the auspices of the United Nations University.   Jane Gray is with Peterborough-Kawarthas-Haliburton Regional Centre of Expertise for Sustainability Education.

There are just three RCEs in Ontario, only 8 in Canada.    Gray, the RCE’s Sustainability Policy and Education Advisor, explains how the designation is a reflection of the community and how the world will soon be able to benefit from the sustainability work happening in the RCE.  This week, a number of presentation across the region are showcasing the elements that created this entity and how it will affect our region.

millarHis “team” might not be in the Stanley Cup final , but that’s not stopping Glenn Millar of Peterborough from leading a fan-based Stanley Cup message onslaught for Mike Fisher. Peterborough-native Mike Fisher plays for the Nashville Predators, the team looking to keep the Pittsburgh Penguins from getting their hands on The Stanley Cup.  The best of 7 series is tied at 2, with the pivotal game 5 set in Pittsburgh tonight. Millar explains how and why he’s collecting messages for one of Peterborough’s favourite hockey players….
