A heavy police presence at Water and London streets on Monday night.
Police shut down the roads in the area around 9 p.m. for an investigation related to weapons at a rooming house. It’s the same building that has been the scene of a number of incidents in recent months, including a shooting.
The Emergency Response Team was deployed to clear a house for suspects and weapons. The operation concluded at 3 a.m. on June 20.
The area is now open to the public and those evacuated from their residents are now allowed to return.
As a result of the investigation no weapon was located.
Two men were arrested and charged. One man is wanted on a warrant held by Calgary Police for fraud charges.
The other male, a resident at the multi-unit building, was also charged.
Melvin Jacobs, 55, of Water Street, is charged with possession of marijuana under 30 grams.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 13.
Police say the investigation is closed.
