Petes select Russian defenceman at CHL Import Draft

With the 37th pick at the CHL Import Draft, the Peterborough Petes selected defenceman Gleb Babintsev.
He’s 6’0″, 203 lbs.
Babintsev recorded 10 goal, 18 assists and 14 penalty minutes with Metallurg Magnitogorsk Under 17 last season.
The Petes passed on their second round selection, because they’re only allowed to protect two Import Draft players.
Matyas Svoboda is slated to come back to the team next season.

Last year’s second pick Igor Martynov, who was returned to Belarus by the Petes, was selected by the Victoria Royals of the WHL.
