Impaired by Drug Arrest:

Peterborough police charged a 19-year-old Millbrook woman with impaired driving Wednesday evening.

Police say they received calls from concerned residents about a possible impaired driver parked on the sidewalk outside a multi-unit complex on Armour Rd. at about 8:30 p.m.

A Drug Recognition Officer determined the woman was impaired by a drug, police say. The woman’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Brooke Van Dyk is to appear in court July 20.



Fraud Charges: 

Peterborough police say a man used another man’s ID to apply for a store credit card at a Lansdowne St. business, and then used that card to buy $1,700 in merchandise.

Police say the incident happened in May. The alleged victim was made aware of the issue when he received the store’s bill in early June.


Police say the same suspect wrote four fraudulent cheques in June and withdrew funds from an account totally $5,300.

John Walter Patrick, 47, of Grange Way, is charged with personation with intent, forger of a credit card, fraud and fraud over $5,000.




Dangerous Driving Arrest: 

Peterborough police have charged a 29 year old woman with dangerous driving following a head-on, hit and run crash last week.

Police say a pickup truck heading north on Monaghan Rd. June 21, at about 3 p.m., when it crossed the centre line and struck an oncoming car head on.



The driver then travelled onto the sidewalk and grass, police said, fleeing the scene.

The driver in the other car, a man in his early 60’s, was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police say witnesses provided officers with a description of the truck, and the driver was found about an hour and a half later at an Anson St. home.

Tammy O’Brien, 29, of Anson St., is charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.




Assault Arrest:

A 24 year old man faces charges after an alleged assault at a Brock St. community centre.

Police say a man assaulted a teenager Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. Police say the man then left the community centre on foot.

Ryan Joseph Comeau, 24, of Stewart St., was charged with assault and breach of probation. He is to appear in court July 20.
