CMHA Merger

January 19, 2012

The Peterborough branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association voted unanimously last night to amalgamate with the Kawartha Lakes office. As Pamela Vanmeer reports, the change was prompted by the Central East LHIN but both branches say it's a good move for the community.

i am a client and i think that we will suffer in lindsay as  peterborough does not care about lindsay just the money so the petboro boss can get the staff in lindsay kicked out    they tell me it will cost over  200,000.00 just to pay out one man so the peterboro boss can take over  no one in lindsay thiks that this will work as the lindsay people were told they had to agree or they would not get any money

I believe if CMHA Peterborough and CMHA Kawartha Lakes works together this can work out for the better. My suggestion is share the money between the two CMHA and everything will be fine. I am a resident of Lindsay and I use CMHA Kawartha Lakes and CMHA Peterborough runs a centre in Lindsay called Kawartha Lakes Reach for Recovery where I am also a client and a volunteer of.
