At the age of 14 my daughter satsuined what was diagnosed as a concussion. She didn't loose consciousness, but within 24 hours she had almost complete amnesia, had forgotten how to read and write and that she had learned a year of algebra and spanish. The effects of her concussion lasted over 3 years.Because of our journey with TBI I have written a book titled When Libby Lost Her Smile . This story takes the reader through the initial diagnosis of concussion to a year long battle with the school district to find the proper accommodation while Libby recovered. The book covers the first three years of recovery and was written to help parents while going through the CSE proccess in getting their child the proper accommodations while recovering.
