Born and raised in Goderich, Ontario, Shannon ventured north to Canadore College in North Bay and graduated with honours from the Print and Broadcast Journalism program. While in school, Shannon worked as a part time reporter for Rogers Radio. In March 2007, Shannon accepted her first full time job in the world of broadcasting as a reporter with CTV in Timmins. It was there she had the opportunity to explore Northern Ontario, travelling from Hearst to Chapleau and all points in between.
