![]() Newswatch Staff Profiles Jay Scotland Weather Analyst Originally from Hamilton, Jay Scotland comes to Peterborough from Kingston where he first discovered his passion for weather forecasting as the relief weather anchor for CKWS Television and as an announcer with CFMK FM. A graduate of Algonquin College’s Radio Broadcasting program, Jay is currently enrolled in Mississippi State University’s renowned ‘Broadcast Meteorology Program’ and is pursuing both a degree in Geosciences and a certificate in Broadcast Meteorology. When he’s not delivering Peterborough and the Kawartha’s most accurate and in depth forecast, Jay enjoys hiking, snowboarding and spending time with his beautiful fiancée Kate. Jay Scotland is an associate member with the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and a member in good standing with the U.S. National Weather Association (NWA). Jay also serves as a reserve officer with the Canadian Forces Cadet Instructor’s Cadre.
