The Rio Secreto property is literally 5-minutes from our Occidental Grand Xcaret Resort. Once there, though, it will take you 10-minutes through the bush on the worst dirt road you've ever traveled, to actually get to where the showers, wet suits & Cave Guides are based. During the drive in, our group jokes a bit about the crater-riddled road. Did we just pay $79 to get dropped off in the middle of nowhere? If the Rio Secreto guides are reading this, they'd be laughing...they know the road well and know it will most likely never be paved, in order to preserve the natural integrity of the precious treasure beneath ...

You're on the Mayan Riviera in Mexico!!! Plenty of sparkle here....the water shimmering in a manmade cove at sunset, the light glinting off the pool and through the ice in your glass, rain drops dripping off palm leaves like little jewels.... mmmm. This is my kind of 'bling'. I really didn't think I was a jewelry and sparkle kind of girl. Still, when I see some something sparkly that I like, I sound a little like my 4-year-old, Ella....."ooh...pretty". And so, it's hard for any woman, really, to keep from gasping an audible "ooh" or "ahh" when she first sets her eyes on the showroom at Lapis Jewelry Factory in Puerto ...

I think it's fun to flip through travel brochures and "imagine the freedom". In which part of the picture do you most imagine you'd be? Where would you go? Who would you take? How would you tell them? The modern version of travel brochures comes courtesy of the internet...websites for resorts, like the Occidental Grand Xcaret where we are in Riviera Maya, offer virtual tours of rooms, grand lobbies, and the grounds. It's as if you're standing in the lobby, doing a 360 degree turn, and seeing everything you would if you were right there. Tour companies show online highlights of ...

Just about lost our CHEX TV group before even leaving the airport in Cancun ! More like I just about lost the group... "Wait here, I'll find out where we should meet", sounds unassuming enough, as members of our party collect luggage INSIDE the Cancun airport. Here's the thing...when you exit the "Arrivals" area at the airport, there's no going back in. "No Entrada" the rather firm looking but polite Security official says to me. Me...who is now on the OUTSIDE of the Cancun airport. Remember...everyone else is INSIDE. "Oh....but my family and all of my friends are waiting for ...

It was months ago when "Go to the Mayan Riviera with Teresa Kaszuba" was first made public, and now, it's 24-hours to the actual Beach Party CHEX TV and Marlin Travel will be hosting at the Occidental Grand Xcaret in Mexico's stunning Mayan Riviera. This Blog is only meant to stay in touch and share any of the neat adventures and coolest moments. If the hotels' internet access can handle it, we'll share by video (fingers crossed) and ..if not, we'll try some photos and regular updates. Interviews I hope to secure, if video will get through, include the Transat Holidays rep who ...
