Barm-Brack (or tea cake)

1 1/2 cups hot tea
2 cups golden raisins
2 cups currants

**Pour hot tea over fruit and soak overnight, covered with cling film.**

1/2 cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
1T mixed spice - cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice and mace
2t baking powder
1 cup well-packed brown sugar
3 1/2 cup all purpose flour

The next day, mix dry ingredients together, the add in the eggs and milk to form a soft batter, along with the fruit/tea mixture.
Put into buttered and floured baking dish, bake at 350F for approx. 1 hour, until firm and brown.
Serve warm or toasted with butter.
