A Lindsay man is facing criminal charges after police say he killed his own dog to avoid paying vet bills.
Kawartha Lakes police say the man walked into the police station Tuesday to report unwanted text messages he was receiving in regards to euthanizing his dog, which he believed was sick.
Police say after investigating the manner in which the dog was killed, they’ve laid to criminal charges.
Wray Chamberlain, 22 is charged with cruelty to an animal and killing, injuring or endangering animals.
Police have not said how the dog died
He will appear in the court in Lindsay on Thursday, Sept. 29.
