Police probe shooting on McDonnel Street

Peterborough police are asking for the public’s help after a man received a non-lifethreating¬†gun-shot wound Saturday night near the downtown core.

Officers were called to a reported shooting shortly after 9 p.m. in the area of Bethune and McDonnel Street.

The man was transported to hospital and medically cleared.

Neighbours in the McDonnel Street neighbourhood that is bordered by Stewart and Bethune Streets said they heard gun shots coming from a backyard. The area was taped off by police and traffic was detoured.
