Saints win high school boys and girls COSSA hockey championships

The St Peter’s varsity girls hockey team won the COSSA championship Monday (March 6) with a convincing 5-1 win over Cobourg Collegiate Institute.

The Saints advance to OFSAA being held from March 21-24th in Mississauga.

Scoring for the Saints was Chelsea Campbell with a pair of goals, Mack Evans, Elyse Young and Alicia Wake has a goal each. Maddy Moloney had three assists and singles went to Kari Lynde, Danielle MacDowall and Maddy O’Neill-Hawthorne.

Maddy Roche secured the win in goal.

 Meanwhile the varsity boy’s team picked up it’s eighth consecutive COSSA title, defeating the St. Theresa Saints 2-1 in double overtime.
The Saints defeated Bayside of Belleville 3-1 in the semifinals.

OFSAA takes place in Mississauga and the Saints are the defending champions.
