City of Kawartha Lakes police officer faces misconduct hearing

A City of Kawartha Lakes Police Officer will face a misconduct hearing next week on charges of neglect of duty and discreditable conduct.

The Office of the Independent Police Review Director (OIPRD) recently conducted an investigation into a complaint from a civilian who claimed that an officer failed to adequately investigate a 2015 sexual assault incident.

As a result of its investigation, the OIPRD has directed a misconduct hearing against Const. Cathy McLeod. She will answer to the charges at a hearing scheduled for Wednesday, June 21 at 10 a.m. in the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service’s Community Room at 6 Victoria Ave. N.

No other details have been provided.

The OIPRD receives, manages and oversees all public complaints about the police in Ontario.
